What a fun weekend! We arrived at the track Friday morning and waited to be picked for the show - a game show based on three contestants predicting the e.t. of the racer's car. You get one pass, no practice, no time runs or re-takes - one pass period.

I didn't get picked for the shows filmed Friday night. Did I mention all the filming was done at night, making for tricky track conditions once the dew point was reached. At 9 PM the rains came and I went home. But the track was dried at 11 and filming continued until 2 AM.

Saturday I hung out doing prep work on some projects hoping to be selected. Finally near the evening I was selected. There were several episodes filmed each night. As the night wore on we watched several episodes being filmed, each one taking about an hour to film. I was to be in the eighth show filmed. By 2 AM the high horsepowered cars started having trouble as the track was made wet from heavy dew rolling in. Finally a little after 3 AM they cancelled racing for the remainder of the night and asked us all to return on Sunday to finish filming.

Sunday were lined up in the staging lanes in a predetermined order. The first cars were low-wager bets and larger wagers were made for later rounds. They brought me out for one of the last rounds. By the way I was the only six cylinder car choosen. Big block / turboed / supercharged / nitrous cars were everywhere. I must say the contestants had no clue about how a straight six car can run.

I'm not going to give away how I ran but since I'm typing this at 1 AM Monday I didn't kill myself. The shows will be aired in February and I'll clue you in when I find out specifics.

Sounds like fun and I'm sure your run caused some to gain respect for the lowly inline. Beater

Greg was their guesses over 3 or 4 seconds slow? You can at least tell us that much, our poor little minds can't stand the suspence till Feb. \:\) or did you have to agree to keep your mouth shut till the show airs?

I think an all-inliner episode would be great. Except the company is based in LA, so to them inliners may mean Toyotas, Beemers and Ford Focuses (Focii???).

Can't wait to see the episode. So how good is Ken Herring at judging inline performance in the quarter?

Can you at least share the questions they asked before your pass . . .

He came closest to predicting my time.

Q1: How much horsepower? A: A little over 500.
Q2: What size slicks? A: 12 x 31
Q3: Do you run any other division races? A: Just the NHRA Div 3 E.T. Finals at Indy

(I just returned from the 2011 finals - I lasted SIX rounds in Super Pro)

The Milan website said their episodes will start Feb 29. I was in the filming of the 8th episode (the seventh car of the night) so I would assume that the episode with my old Ford truck 6-banger will be eight episodes hence. If I hear otherwise I will post it.
Does anybody plan to make a video of it? I would like to obtain a DVD copy. Thanks

Do you have an exact date yet or have they already shown it?

I thought the Milan episodes were going to be run consecutively, but they are interspersing them with other venues. Their website is kinda sketchy but the next episode from Milan is scheduled to be aired on Monday April 30. To make matters worse I don't even get the Speed Channel on my TV. I am on the eighth Milan show, seventh car up. Sorry I could not be more of a help.

Well I was just told my run was on last night's episode of Pass Times.

Dang! I missed it - I don't have Speed channel.

Did anybody record it? I'd like to get a copy. PM me please. Thanks.

For those who may have missed the show I ran a 9.18 @ 142 mph. Funnn!

They re-run those Pass Time shows over and over so we should be able to catch your run sooner or later

Apparently Pass Time is showing the Milan runs through May 2. Don't know about reruns.

I also got our Logghe car out last weekend, along with The Family Truckster. We went to the nostalgia drags. Bob Beausoleil of Canada was also there:

Boy am I getting lazy. I'd forgotten what a pain it was to run one of these older cars - charging the battery between rounds, changing the water every pass, etc. So I had already added an alternator (an alternator putting out 30 amps at 14 volts = 420 watts output; ONE HP =746 watts - small price to pay even at 50% mech. efficiency)

Now I'm adding a radiator so my bride won't have to drag me back form the end of the strip. Maybe with a pancake fan in there I can even Round-Robin it.
