I traded a couple of T-Shirts and some cash for an offy valve cover this weekend... I didn't notice that there was only one hole in the valve cover. Do I need to cut a 2nd hole PCV?

If you do, it's best to have baffles on the inside (between rocker arms for clearance) to keep the PCV valve from sucking oil splash.

Is the one hole for a breather/filler cap? You may be able to use a cap with a hose nipple for a pcv. One is enough.

I pulled the filler cap off of a mercruiser valve cover and it fit. should something like this work? http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Finned-Valve-Cover-Breathers-with-PCV,7427.htmlThis is a push in type, do I need to buy some sort of grommet or something?

Is the Mercruiser a push in? The one from Speedway needs a grommet. All you need is to relieve the the pressure in the crankcase in a way that is lawful. It used to be easy.

The oil fill on the Mercruiser is a twist on. The hole on the Offy is a twist on too.... so, I'm guessing Speedway isn't going to work for me. Underneath the holes on the Mercruiser, there are some hollow metal 'columns.' Are these baffles? I noticed on the Offy if I look through the hole, I can see a rocker in the way. I was thinking of removing the baffles from a stock valve cover and putting them in the offy with expoxy, but I'm not sure if this will work now. I'm noticed that some of the Speeday stuff has baffles built into the PCV ( http://www.speedwaymotors.com/PCV-Gromme...tDisplayId=7331 ), but once again, these are push in. What do you guys think I should do?

I have the same cover. I drilled a hole in the rear of the cover and installed a grommet and a PCV valve. I removed the baffles from a stock cover and installed them in the Offy. I held the baffles in by drilling small holes through the top cover and baffles, and then fastening them together with hex bolts and nuts. I welded the nuts on to the underside of the baffles. Before I did this I was getting a lot of oil coming up through the front breather, and oil being sucked into the carb through the pcv valve. Now it works great!!...no oil through the breather and no oil being sucked into the carb. I have my top cover off at the moment. If you need pictures I can send them via email. I have a tube of this stuff. I wonder if I could use it instead of drilling to attach the baffles.

I have a twist on oil filler with pcv hole in the top. I think it was a Mr. Gasket piece. No hole drilling or baffle installation required.

I would be concerned about it as they mention applications that aren't likely to get hot, or deal with oil.

I did mine the same as Al, only I rivited the baffles in place instead of using screws.
PS..not pop rivits but hand make ones.

The link takes me to Evercoat 'Medium Set' epoxy, it claims to be "Designed for replacing door skins, roofs, quarter panels, truck bedsides, utility vehicle sides and other non-structural panels".
It's the 3rd bullet point after the name.
It does mention 'good gunability in hot or cold conditions' which I take to mean that it will come out the end of the tube fine over a wide temperature range (as opposed to freezing up below 68* or being too runny above 75*).
But no mention of oil, fuel, or any other type of powertrain fluid resistance (they usually brag on that if it is).
