Long time no talk .

I have a 1969 C/10 Shortbed W/ 250 L6 and a TH350 , I just bought a 292 to up grade it , I *think* this is a mid 1960's (1966?) vintage engine because it has the pre smog cylinder head and early Delcotron alternator .

Anyways , I only got the engine side motor mounts with it , now what ? .

I've been trying to search for older posts but only three pages show and nothing about motor mounts .

Any tips or where to look will be greatly appreciated .

You may be in luck.
The 250 mounts are different for the DS and PS. The DS mount from 250 is the same as 292 DS mount.
The 292 uses the same mount on both PS and DS of engine. Only difference is the PS mount gets 2 short pipe spacers to fill the void between block and mount. Cut those with a hacksaw or better yet a SAWZALL. (don't tell T6 you used a SAWZALL).

I would buy your extra mounts. Tom

I too faced the problem of coming up with mounts for a 292 in a '69 pickup. This was in a conversion from a V-8. I hunted around in junkyards and finally found some 250 engine side mounts, but never had any luck finding the passenger side frame side mount.

In the end, I found it easier to simply fabricate some mounts.

I am talking about the engine to rubber mount brackets. You must be referring to the frame rubber mount bracket.

VWNate, if you want notifications when there are replies, you should be able to go into the "My Stuff" button at the top of the page, select "My Watch Lists", "Watched Topics", then over on the right in Blue will be "Edit Topics" select that.

You will wind up with a list of topics you are watching and the notification options are "none" and "immediately".

go here, all the answers you need for your yeat truck. on the p/s all you do is move the I-6 frame mount towards the rad. to next set of matching holes. all is a bolt in.

I disagree. The R/S perch for the 292 (frame to biscuit) is completely different than the perch for a 250.



I am going through this very thing right now. That's why the 292 perch is sandblasted and ready for paint. You can see the difference in these pictures.

Now, I have heard that the perch for the 292 is very similar to the small block perch, but I have not compared the two side-by-side. I searched long and hard for an actual 292 perch, and paid through the nose for it, but anything for my baby ('68 Chevy Panel) BTW, I ended up with an extra set of those little pipe-looking spacers in case your interested. BTW P.S., those little spacers ain't the same length. One is a big 1/8th longer than the other, (I have 3 sets, and they are all like this). Only problem is, I don't know which is which. I hope it's obvious when I put it back together.

Yeah-the answer to that is clear in the pictures, too. I even went to the trouble and expense to have those copper-plated nuts re plated.LOL I can't imagine why they were plated originally, but they were and so are again.
